PeaceQuest 2024
PeaceQuest is a community-wide celebration in the Greater Lansing area held every September to celebrate the United Nations International Day of Peace, which was declared by the UN General Assembly with a resolution passed unanimously in 1981.
PeaceQuest brings us ALL together for fun and interesting activities with friends, family, and community while focusing on ways we can promote peace, resolve conflicts, learn about other faiths and cultures, and encourage mutual understanding.
Highlights of PeaceQuest 2024:
Peace Pole Pursuit (Sept 1-30): Explore the Greater Lansing area by locating and photographing peace poles. Participate by walking, driving, or biking, and share your journey with us!
Peace Vigil (Sept 6, 13, 20, 27): Join us every Friday at the Michigan State Capitol to promote peace and reflect on its importance in our lives.
Sing Out for Peace! (Sept 7): Enjoy a lively sing-along and concert featuring songs of peace in Old Town.
Salaam Peace Festival (Sept 29): Experience Muslim culture, enjoy delicious food, and take part in fun activities at the Islamic Center of East Lansing.
PeaceQuest is coordinated by the Greater Lansing United Nations Association, in partnership with many local organizations and sponsors.
