UN Day Celebration
Since UNA-USA’s founding, we have always believed that nations working together through the UN is the best hope for addressing the major issues we face on a global level. One of these issues is food security. That’s why this year, we’re focusing on nourishing peace.
Nourishing Peace, UNA-USA’s theme for UN Day 2022, aims to address how food security and peace are intertwined on the international scale. In 2022, we have seen firsthand how the scarcity of sufficient and nutritious food drives conflict and how violence threatens food supply chains all across the globe. At the GL-UNA UN Day Event we celebrated the work of the UN and honored local community leaders and graduates!

UN Day Celebration
For more than seven decades, UNA-USA members have advocated on behalf of the UN and its agencies. The U.S. should not—and cannot—tackle global challenges alone. Our members know that creating a blueprint for a better future can only be achieved through working in tandem with the UN.
We honored Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield, Representative of the United States of America to the United Nations. We also enjoyed good food, performances by King Isaac and the Dazzling Daisies, and presented Global Goals and Education awards. Use the link below to view the event!
